POSITION TITLE: Transportation Coordinator

COMPENSATION: $25.00- 32.00/hour
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the supervisor, schedule, coordinate and supervise the scheduling and dispatch of the SHC fleet of vehicle to, including but not limited to daily needs which can include- potential shuttle routes, athletic competitions, field trips, business meetings, departmental events and extracurricular events; maintain an effective preventive maintenance program for vehicles; prepare and maintain master schedule and accurate records related to vehicles and drivers.
Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:
Model the mission of SHC and the charisms of the Daughters of Charity and De La Salle Christian Brothers through active mission and Catholic formation. Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of SHC.
Support and adhere to the Mission, Code of Conduct, and policies and procedures of SHC.
Master schedule, coordinate and dispatch vehicles; prepare schedules; initiate and develop programs for proper coordination and utilization of equipment and personnel.
Development of routes where transportation is needed including special transportation, activities and extra trips.
Prepare and maintain accurate records related to vehicles and drivers.
Assure proper licenses for drivers and maintain accurate records of expiration dates.
Preparation of the annual transportation budget requests.
In coordination with Director of Human Resources and Associate Director of Facilities:
Maintain and prepare a variety of records and reports.
Implementation of current and new laws and district policies affecting student transportation, driver licensing and performance requirements.
Processing of all required accident reports and follow-up documentation.
Maintain an effective preventive maintenance program for vehicles.
Prepare vehicles for use- cleaned and maintained, including gas, for each use.
Deliver vehicles to designated drop off locations.
Maintain security of vehicles.
Communicate with school and department leadership and resolve issues or concerns as needed; resolve and respond to complaints.
Communicate with faculty, staff and families as needed.
Make field decisions and recommendations regarding adverse weather, and student safety issues; supervise, coordinate and evaluate the vehicle safety program.
Assist school leadership in the development of policies, regulations and department procedures. Operate a computer and assigned software.
Must be available to work outside of school hours, as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
