USAID Staff Care Program
The US Agency for International Development (USAID) contracts with Strategic Consulting Partners & the KonTerra Group as a subcontractor, to provide USAID Organizational Resilience (OR) Program support to leaders, individuals, and teams of all sizes and configurations for the DC Headquarters and Missions worldwide.
The Role of Organizational and Individual Resilience Training Specialist
The OR/IR Training Specialist will provide learning and development services and training to support clients facing challenges involving morale, interpersonal conflict, team dynamics, organizational change, and various stressors to strengthen organizational and individual resilience. The OR/IR Training Specialist will work in person and virtually to:
- Design and deliver individual and team-strengthening training activities, assessments, and professional development initiatives responsive to client needs and requirements.
- Serve as content expert in human and organizational development, change management, group dynamics, and resilience topics (e.g. managing chronic stress and burnout, strengthening motivation, emotional intelligence, and compassion fatigue).
- Provide professional development services, including organizing communities of practice, onboarding/offboarding sessions, webinars, toolkits, and other learning collateral as requested.
- Partner with external consultants and internal staff to achieve individual and organizational development resilience results.
The Candidate
The KonTerra Group is seeking a seasoned team-focused learning and development professional with:
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience in adult education, organizational and/or human development or other allied fields.
- Self-organized with the ability to think strategically about learning design, client needs, strategic priorities, employee development, and employee engagement.
- Experience developing and delivering tools and resources for client engagements virtually and in person, including instructional materials, participant guides, and evaluations.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality, polished, engaging training and learning opportunities
- Comprehensive knowledge and proven experience with learner-centered, performance based instructional theories and adult learning principles.
- A demonstrated commitment to a strengths-based approach, an ability to think creatively about how resilience can be enhanced in organizational and individual clients, and a track record of working collaboratively with others.
- Experience working in developing country contexts and with international humanitarian and/or development organizations, including personnel from developing countries.
- Ability to drive multiple projects while planning and managing progress to milestones.
- Technical skills / systems knowledge of relevant learning tools and platforms.
- Demonstrated flexibility, and cross-cultural adaptability.

- Experience with assessment tools such as DiSC, StrengthsFinder 2.0, etc.,
- Demonstrated familiarity with USAID structure, culture, and processes.
- French or Spanish language fluency

The pay range for this role allows for the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. At KonTerra, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $90,000 to $120,000. The actual salary offered for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including location, internal equity and the candidate's qualifications and professional experience.
