We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cybersecurity Analyst to join our team. As a Cybersecurity Analyst, you will play a crucial role in protecting our organization's sensitive information and systems from cyber threats. You will be responsible for monitoring network activity, analyzing security events, and implementing measures to prevent and respond to security incidents.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, update, and maintain cybersecurity training materials, including curriculum, presentations, exercises, and simulations, to address evolving threats and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with subject-matter experts to identify training needs, develop learning objectives, and ensure alignment with DoD cybersecurity policies and standards.
- Utilize instructional design principles and adult learning methodologies to create engaging and effective training content for diverse audiences.
- Conduct cybersecurity training sessions, workshops, and exercises for DoD personnel at various levels, including cybersecurity professionals, IT staff, and end users.
- Facilitate interactive learning experiences, group discussions, and hands-on exercises to reinforce key concepts, promote skill development, and foster a culture of cybersecurity awareness and compliance.
- Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback mechanisms, and make continuous improvements to training programs based on results and lessons learned.
- Provide expert guidance and interpretation of DoD cybersecurity policies, regulations, and directives to ensure compliance and adherence across DoD components and stakeholders.
- Assess cybersecurity risks, vulnerabilities, and incidents, and recommend mitigation strategies, controls, and best practices to strengthen security posture and safeguard critical assets.
- Support cybersecurity audits, inspections, and assessments by providing documentation, conducting interviews, and assisting with remediation efforts as needed.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with DoD agencies, military commands, industry partners, and other stakeholders to promote cybersecurity awareness, share best practices, and coordinate training initiatives.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and subject-matter expert on cybersecurity matters, providing timely guidance, insights, and recommendations to leadership and decision-makers.
- Stay abreast of emerging cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies through continuous learning, research, and participation in professional forums, conferences, and working groups.
- Mentor and coach junior cybersecurity professionals, providing guidance on career development, technical skills, and industry certifications to support talent retention and succession planning.
Experience:
- Understanding of information assurance, cybersecurity, privacy policies disciplines, methodologies.
- Understanding of Federal Information Security Modernization Act 2014 (FISMA).
- Understanding of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Risk Management Framework (RMF)
- Understanding of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF).
- Understanding of Identity, Credential and Access Management (ICAM) implementation.
- Understanding of the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education, National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) Cybersecurity Workforce Framework, and Cybersecurity Workforce Framework, Federal Cybersecurity Workforce Assessment Act of 2015.
- Ability to work with customers to assess needs, provide assistance, resolve problems, satisfy expectations; knows products and services.
- Understanding of CSAM reporting and controls management (Common, Hybrid, and System specific).
- Ability to design, manage, and deploy data systems, reports, and dynamic dashboards, as well as training users in these systems and the use of reports.
- Ability to present analytic findings, extracting data from multiple sources, manipulating and validating data, and conducting root cause analysis.
- Knowledge of current computing technologies and software applications such as specialized Business Intelligence software, SQL query language, Microsoft SharePoint, and other database applications i.e., Tableau, BI 360 & Power BI, Hyperion, and SQL Reporting Services expertise preferred.
- Skilled in using Microsoft tools: Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Visio.
