Are you a seasoned Data Scientist with a proven track record of turning complex data into actionable insights? We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Data Scientist III. The main function of the Data Scientist is to use data to help explain what trends are happening in the product, identify likely contributing factors, and make program recommendations based on what we are seeing in the data.
Job Responsibilities:
- Apply knowledge of statistics, machine learning, programming, data modeling, simulation, and advanced mathematics to recognize patterns, identify opportunities, pose business questions, and make valuable discoveries leading to prototype development and product improvement.
- Use a flexible, analytical approach to design, develop, and evaluate predictive models and advanced algorithms that lead to optimal value extraction from the data.
- Generate and test hypotheses, analyze and interpret the results of product experiments, and communicate results with clarity to broader audiences.
- Work with product engineers to translate prototypes into new products, services, and features and provide guidelines for large-scale implementation.
- Define and refine goals and tracking metrics that the team will use for evaluating progress and prioritizing impactful projects.
Skills:
- Proficiency with Python and/or R, SQL, and data visualization tools and techniques.
- The ability to communicate effectively in writing, including conveying complex information and promoting in-depth engagement on course topics.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or in a relevant field.
- 5+ years of relevant data work experience.

Additional Responsibilities:
- Participate in OrangePeople monthly team meetings, and participate in team-building efforts.
- Contribute to OrangePeople technical discussions, peer reviews, etc.
- Contribute content and collaborate via the OP-Wiki/Knowledge Base.
- Provide status reports to OP Account Management as requested.
