The Training & Development Specialist, Technical Supportis responsible for facilitating training to our new hire and current employees with occasional leadership development training as assigned for our Technical Support team. This position will have primary focus on associates supporting small equipment products but may help in other departments as needed. This position will also help identify educational needs and assist in developing formal training programs to increase job performance. The candidate selected for this role must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. This role must have the ability to motivate students to learn and perform to organizational/department standards and customer requirements. This person must develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with associates, Customer Care Leadership team members and other departments. The candidate must also possess excellence in accuracy and attention to detail, demonstrate effective time management skills, and demonstrate a history of continuous improvement in work processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Consults with management to identify training needs and to ensure course content, training methodologies, and training materials are met.
- Design and write training documentation, testing, and evaluation procedures that are aligned with product needs to increase on-the-job performance.
- Develop and organize training materials, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials.
- Guide, direct, and motivate associates by setting performance standards and monitoring performance by review and evaluation of call recordings.
- Conduct or arrange ongoing technical training and personal development classes for the department as needed.
- Identify and develop countermeasures, action plans, and evaluate performance to address gaps between learning objectives and learning outcomes.
- Develop method of measuring the effectiveness of training programs and make recommendations accordingly.
- Works with Technical Support leaders to assist in the coaching and developing of others to improve their knowledge or skills.
- Organize, plan, and prioritize training programs by developing specific goals to prioritize and accomplish departmental training needs.
- Conduct orientation sessions and arrange training for new hires.
- Facilitate feedback to identify training needs based on software production releases or procedural changes.
- Provide frontline agent duties including answering calls when the need arises.
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years experience in Learning and Development; working understanding of adult learning theories preferred
- 1-2 years of experience in a customer service-related field
- Proven experience in designing multiple training events in a corporate setting. Extensive knowledge of instructional design theory and learning principals.
- Advanced proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite; designing documents and creating reports for presentations and analysis
- CRM experience
PREFERRED REQUIRMENTS
- Bachelor's degree
- 2-3 years of experience in a Technical Support related field
- Learning Management System experience preferred
- Previous medical device industry experience preferred
- Previous experience with talent management and succession planning
