Best Veterinary Solutions, Inc., has an immediate opening for a Training & Development Manager. In this position you will be responsible for improving the productivity of the organization's employees. This position assesses company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives, identifies and arranges suitable training solutions for employees at all BVS locations. This position will also assist with the full life cycle recruitment in sourcing the best talent for BVS as well as maintaining effective programs for retention, promotions, and succession planning. This position can be based in our Corporate Office in Ellsworth, Iowa or our new facility in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.

Job Responsibilities:
- Provide overall guidance by overseeing career development, succession planning, retention, training and leadership development.
- Implements, organizes and conducts orientation sessions and coordinates on-the-job training for new and transferred employees.
- Oversee the organization and creation of company training programs by researching training needs, planning courses, organizing all materials, and conducting seminars.
- Assists with the workplace safety and training platform to ensure compliance within the organization. Also, an active member of the Safety Committee.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of training programs through development and training surveys.
- Coordinates and conducts needs analysis in various forms; analyzes information to help identify and define present and future training needs.
- Oversees and ensures that organization-wide talent management and performance management initiatives are focused and aligned on improving operational and program efficiencies and effectiveness.
- Trains and coaches managers, supervisors and others involved in employee development efforts on techniques and skills to manage and teach their employees.
- Works with departmental managers to facilitate new hires through the various onboarding processes, ensuring successful orientation for new hires during their first week and up to one year of hire.
- Responsible for employee surveys and retention strategies; working with management to make necessary improvements to it’s systems or programs
- Through collaboration with management, identifies anticipated training needs based on human resource initiatives, legal and regulatory changes, career development needs, and other factors.
- Ensures that training milestones and goals are met while adhering to approved training budget.
- Assist with the talent acquisition process, which includes recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants; collaborates with departmental/location managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings and ongoing training needs.
- Assist with the maintenance of the HR sections of the company websites and SharePoint, particularly recruiting, culture, and company information; and the HRIS software.
- Assist with reference and background checks, employee eligibility verifications and drug testing.
- Provide professional expertise and support in the design, development and implementation of the talent review process that is required to achieve business goals and results in the creation of an internal bench of top talent.
- Assist with the develop and implement creative and innovative sourcing strategies and techniques to build a pipeline of qualified candidates.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to understand the needs and roles to be filled; develop and revise specifications and job descriptions for selected positions.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
- Attends and participates in job fairs, training and recruiting sessions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Experience designing, developing, conducting and supporting organization-wide talent management programs that cover performance management, talent development, coaching, succession planning, and relationship management.
- Knowledge and experience in employment law, organizational planning, recruitment, organization development, employee relations, safety, administration of recognition and engagement programs and processes.
- Must maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to strict confidentiality policies and procedures.
- Exhibits strong interpersonal and organizational skills, great attention to detail as well as excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include knowledge of Excel and skills in Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field, or equivalent work experience, required.
- At least three years of related experience in designing, delivering, and/or consulting on training required.
- At least two years managing all phases of the recruitment and hiring process required.
- CPLP, PHR or SHRM-CP credential preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting driving or at a desk and working on a computer.
- The ability to working with and around industrial hazards.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
- Ability to travel to other BVS locations as needed.
- Ability to travel up to 50% or as needed.
