Form of workThe City of Johnston is seeking a dynamic and organized Economic Development Project Manager to play a pivotal role in advancing our community's growth. The Economic Development Project Manager works collaboratively with various city departments and consultants to help facilitate high quality developments projects including the Johnston Town Center, The Johnston Gateway and the future NW Annexation Area. The selected candidate will work closely with site selectors and regional development organizations in soliciting new commercial development and to respond to national site selection inquiries. Additionally, the Project Manager will be responsible for expanding the city's business retention and expansion program by working closely with existing businesses, business leaders to help administer an effective tax increment financing policy. The ideal candidate will have an underlying passion for community engagement and identifying creative ways to carry out community betterment initiatives in a dynamic environment.

Among your duties, we'll look for you to: Assist in overseeing the implementation and maintenance of an Economic Development plan.
Manage business outreach and business retention, expansion and attraction efforts for city including conducting key industry visits in partnership with key public and private development partners.
Explore and respond to state, federal and other applicable grant opportunities advancing the betterment of Johnston.Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Public Administration, Finance, Urban Planning or a related field; or
Considerable experience in Economic Development, Real Estate or a related field; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the work.
