Novelis Davenport has an exciting opportunity for a Training Coordinator! A successful candidate for the Training Coordinator position will be responsible for the development, implementation and execution of the training plans for multiple departments within the Novelis Davenport facility.
Responsibilities
- Assist with orientation of new employees as needed.
- Identification and delivery of training needs.
- Coordination of training and assessment activities and weekly team meetings.
- Lead the apprenticeship program.
- Facilitate effective communication within departments - goals and objectives, performance measures, practices and procedures.
- Promote the visibility of the department in terms of operational and organizational successes.
- Serve as an extension of the Human Resources group regarding conflict management, employee advisement and elevate concerns as needed.
- Ensure the effectiveness of employee development from orientation, to training and assessment, to the creation and the completion of developmental plans.
- Develop and further plant-wide systems for organizational development. This includes direct involvement in all phases of organisational change, strategic planning, implementation, integration and auditing.
- Assist development of and support EHS&Q plant policies and organization development.
- Work with end users, providers and corporate to provide clear services from the systems being supported inclusive of innovative, flexible reporting and data handling.
- Drive future development looking for systems offering step change opportunities.
- Develop and maintain training matrix for all employees.
- Supervise employee qualification statuses.
- Be a liaison for any corporate/online training.
- Develop training materials for all attendees.
- Partner with internal customers to align with all ISO standards.
- Ability to collaborate with union representatives.
Qualifications
- Operational leadership experience or human resources experience is preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing operations is strongly preferred.
- Experience designing training programs is preferred.
- Lean or Six-Sigma Black Belt certification is a plus.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) skills; ability to connect with all levels in the organization.
- Personal traits should include the ability to apply human relation skills to motivate, train, understand, and develop others to attain the objectives.
- Desire to take initiative and develop a pro-active relationship with employees through follow-up, understanding their needs and fostering a collaborative relationship.
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload; must be able to lead multiple tasks at once without sacrificing attention to detail.
- Must be flexible and able to operate in a fast-paced and fast paced environment.
- Proven digital literacy with software applications proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to learn new software programs quickly.
- Union knowledge preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $54,748.04 - $70,000.00 per year
