The Field Training & DevelopmentTraining Coach is responsible for coaching, mentoring, training, and upskilling new and existing employees on competencies for identifying hazards, mitigating at-risk behaviors, and performing the job as a rig crew member safely, efficiently, and effectively.
Responsibilities
- Participate in JSA (Job Safety Analysis) reviews on rig sites and use the information collected to observe crews
- Educate and train rig crews on the expectations regarding Critical Operating Procedures
- Attend crew handover meetings to observe the communication between crews and ensure the time is utilized to its full potential
- Complete and use daily hazard and risk observations to improve crew awareness of and ability to mitigate risk
- Review safety meetings and materials from these meetings to help crews realize their value
- Help crews access and use safety information to benefit their day-to-day operations
- Complete in-field competency assessments and enhance competencies needing development
- Support the division in achieving Field Training and development objectives
- Deliver the new employee orientation course as designed
- Deliver FT&D-designed job-specific training to field personnel
- Coordinate and conduct compliance training as defined
- Prepare materials and venues for in-house training
- Work with third-party training providers to source training as demand requires
- Support FT&D administrative functions, systems, and processes
- Assist in training-related projects, development, and analysis work
Knowledge & Skills
Computer skills (Fluency in Word, Excel, Email & PowerPoint)
Excellent communication skills
Organizational skills and the ability to plan ahead and manage your time
Functional knowledge of company standards and practices
Motivation to develop skills aligned to HSE practices, procedures, and regulations
Possess a working knowledge of drilling & well servicing equipment
Education
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent (secondary education preferred.
Experience
Hold a valid driver's license and the ability to produce a clean driver's abstract.
Certification in IADC RigPass® and Well Control, OSHA/ANSI H2S, First Aid, OSHA HazCom, Fall Protection, and Rig Rescue, Rigging, and Confined Space Entry. Certification in the Transportation of Dangerous Goods is a plus.
CPLP preferred or capable of acquiring within one year
Operational experience is an asset; preferably worked as a Derrickman or higher
Experience delivering training and coaching
