Job Title: HS Assistant Cheer Coach for 2024-2025
Location: Melissa High School
About Us: Melissa HS seeks a passionate and dedicated individual to join our cheerleading program as an Assistant Cheer Coach. We are committed to fostering a positive, inclusive environment that promotes teamwork, skill development, and school spirit. This position is tied to teaching in the classroom; the teaching field is open at this time.
Responsibilities:

1. Assist in Planning and Conducting Practices:
   
   • Collaborate with the head coach to plan and execute effective cheerleading practices.
   • Focus on skill development, choreography, and overall team performance.
2. Provide Instruction and Feedback:
   
   • Instruct cheerleaders on proper techniques and routines.
   • Offer constructive feedback to enhance individual and team performance.
3. Support Game Day Activities:
   
   • Attend and actively participate in games, pep rallies, and other school events.
   • Coordinate and lead cheerleading routines to boost team spirit.
4. Encourage Team Unity:
   
   • Foster a positive and inclusive team environment.
   • Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and camaraderie among cheerleaders.
5. Assist with Administrative Tasks:
   
   • Help with the coordination of team logistics, such as uniform distribution, scheduling, and communication with parents.
6. Stay Informed on Safety Guidelines:
   
   • Stay updated on safety regulations and guidelines related to cheerleading activities.
   • Ensure the well-being of all team members during practices and events.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in cheerleading, coaching, or related activities.
• Knowledge of cheerleading techniques, stunts, and routines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the head coach and other staff members.
• Enthusiastic and positive attitude.
• CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
