Job Description
Job Summary:
As a Traffic Engineer II, you will play a key role in the planning, design, and implementation of traffic management systems to ensure the efficient and safe flow of traffic within a designated area. Working under general supervision, you will be responsible for analyzing traffic patterns, designing traffic control systems, and collaborating with other professionals to enhance overall transportation infrastructure. Hybrid flexibility available, PE is required.
Responsibilities:
Traffic Analysis and Planning: Conduct comprehensive traffic studies to analyze current traffic patterns, identify congestion points, and propose effective solutions for improved traffic flow.
Utilize traffic simulation software and other analytical tools to model and predict traffic behavior.
Traffic Signal Design: Design and optimize traffic signal timings and phasing plans to maximize traffic efficiency and minimize delays.
Collaborate with electrical engineers to ensure proper installation and functionality of traffic signal systems.
Transportation Infrastructure Design: Contribute to the design and modification of transportation infrastructure, including roadways, intersections, and pedestrian facilities, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
Traffic Control Devices: Evaluate and recommend appropriate traffic control devices, such as signage and pavement markings, to enhance traffic safety and compliance with regulations.
Data Collection and Analysis: Implement traffic data collection methods to gather relevant information for traffic studies and ongoing monitoring.
Analyze collected data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
