Tooling Technician

We are seeking a Tooling/Maintenance Technician to ensure the reliability and optimal performance of our injection molds. The ideal candidate will have a technical background, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure all work is carried out safely and without injury.
• Report any food safety issues to the appropriate manager or supervisor.
• Take initiative to address non-conformances related to mold condition or function.
• Maintain injection molds at a level that meets or exceeds production standards for preservation and product quality.
• Perform mold-related services according to schedule, adhering to dates due and downtime duration.
• Set up and remove molds in and out of injection machines.
• Provide support to the maintenance and production departments as needed.
• Maintain injection molds, spare mold-related tooling, and cleaning supplies associated with mold maintenance.
• Ensure that tools and equipment used are suitable for the job and in good working order.
• Maintain mold-related records in designated network folders, CMMS, and CIM System.
• Execute mold maintenance activities in a manner that achieves department KPIs.

Experience:

• Experience in mold troubleshooting and repair, including hot runner system repair, close tolerance components, injection molding process, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in using machine shop equipment such as lathes, mills, surface grinders, and measurement equipment, along with basic functions of an injection molding machine.
• Familiarity with a computerized maintenance management system.
• Experience with ISO or similar quality systems and SQF or similar food safety systems is preferred.
