Tool And Die Maintenance Technician

This position is located 30 minutes outside of Charleston, South Carolina.

Relocation is required for this position.

Provenance Recruitment & Staffing is currently recruiting Pressure Die Cast Operators for a Global Die Casting Company situated on a 50 acre state of the art manufacturing facility located 30 Minutes outside of Charleston, South Carolina.

Company is a leading supplier of aluminum cast products to global automotive equipment manufacturers. The facility manufactures aluminum high pressure, die cast products and permanent mold gravity fed parts. Company is part of a multi billion-dollar group, one of the largest automotive and automotive components manufacturing and distribution groups in India.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for Die Maintenance, die installation, effective evaluation and repair of dies

· Support equipment / die downtime in a dynamic fast paced environment

· Develop and support Die Maintenance and improvement projects

· Support weekend and shutdown die issues

· Support training of other die associates

· Support the engineering group in short / long term projects

· Support machine checks, preventative maintenance duties, line troubleshooting and reporting of problems and repairs

· Performs other duties as assigned

· Utilizes hand tools, power tools and hoists / cranes to repair and maintain dies and associated equipment

· Utilizes calipers, micrometers and other gauges to evaluate production components

· May be trained and assigned to operate a forklift

· Keep work area clean of debris and safety hazards

· Complies with safety policies and reports unsafe conditions

· May be trained and assigned to perform Plant Start-Up and Shutdown Procedures and Weekend/Holiday Shutdown Facilities Check

· Work on daily activities as assigned by the team leader

· Respond to die downtime and recovery issues

· Monitor dies for potential problems identification

· Perform quality & running efficiency improvements to the dies

· Perform scheduled preventative maintenance plans & activities

· Quality confirmation of completed work

· Perform zone inspections

· Perform all phases of die and associated troubleshooting on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and/or pneumatic systems including process water controls and lines

Minimum Qualifications

· High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of Five years of experience as a Maintenance Technician

· Ability to read, write, speak and understand English well

· Must demonstrate capability of using hand and power tools

· Understands safety policies, quality policy and environmental policies

· Has basic understanding of Gravity Die Casting

· Ability to analyze die and process and implement repairs and countermeasures for hydraulic cylinder issues

· Mechanical aptitude

· Ability to weld and hard finish

· Troubleshooting skills

· Computer / data entry skills

· Electrical troubleshooting

· Machine tool knowledge understanding of 2D drawings

· Ability to be a self-starter, learn on a continuous basis, train others and work well in a team environment

· Capability to work with minimal supervision

· Good communication skills

· Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic functions and components

· Ability to demonstrate a proactive approach with Die Maintenance

· Required work authorization

· Ability to perform the essential functions of the job such as lifting and moving up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods of time, bending, squatting and kneeling

· Ability to work any shift

· Ability to pass a pre employment drug screen, physical and background check
