MUST HAVE 3-5 YEARS OF PRIOR TOOL AND DIE MAKING EXPERIENCE
GENERAL SUMMARY
Work with the Tooling Engineers and Leaders to develop and maintain efficient and reliable tooling processes to the Production Department. Troubleshoot any problems that are presented during production or on the bench. Work with Mistake Proofing Engineer to design new, and (or) diagnose existing, sensing applications to assure part quality, and predict/prevent Tool (die) failure.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
A. Work from tool room schedule to ensure that production tooling and equipment is ready to meet customer requirements
B. Troubleshoot tooling problems, sensor problems at presses
C. Work with all employees to continuously improve quality and production
D. Work on production equipment when necessary to maintain production
E. Requisition supplies and spare parts for tool room and Dies, maintain organization
F. Assist in Development of a sustainable talent acquisition, and strategies
G. Suggest methods of improvement (i.e. Continuous Improvement Plan)
H. Interpret prints for tooling modifications, accuracy, &/or improvements
I. Work with Engineers to create &/or modify prints to reflect changes
J. Perform Preventive maintenance by assignment
K. Willing to accept other additional job duties from next level leader.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS '
Education:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Certified Toolmaker or 3 years' experience in Tool and Die field
• Apprenticeship Program completion preferred
• Associates Degree in a related field (prefer B.S.) Experience:
• Certified Tool and Die Maker or relevant experience
• Self-motivated, self-directed and able to make and meet specific goals in the Tooling Department
• Willing to learn or possess computer skills including, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CAD
Tool and Die maker 3 yrs. Minimum
• Electrical circuit design and troubleshooting. 24 V DC
• Experience at an OEM and/or Tier 1/II supplier to automaker helpful.
• Experience with Inductive, and Photo Electric Sensors.
