Machinist/Tool And Die Maker

Job Description:

· Builds and repairs machine shop tools using machining operations and measuring instruments.

· Works from blueprints and sketches to create or modify tools, dies, jigs and molds.

· Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures.

· Must have own tools

Required Education

· Tool and Die: at least 1 year

Required Experience

· 5 years

Required Skills

· Must be able to read and use calipers and micrometers

· Must be able to use and hold close tolerances on all tool and Die equipment.

· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

· Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

· Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization

· Must prioritize tasks

· Must handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously

· Must prioritize, organize and delegate assignments where applicable

Physical Requirements

· Must be able to lift 75 lbs.

· Must be able to stand for at least 7 hrs. per day

Mental Requirements

· Must have trouble shooting skills

· Must be able to do simple addition and subtraction

· Must be able to read blueprints

· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

· Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form

· Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.

Equipment Used

· Calipers, micrometers, tape measure, end mill, lathe, power tools, grinder, welder, and drill press.

Work Schedule

· M-F 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
