As a Test Engineer supporting the Integration and Test (I&T) team, you will be supporting our mission to return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth.Lunar Permanence is Blue Origin's team dedicated to developing mission architectures such as our planned Lunar Lander program, Blue Moon (Link: https://www.blueorigin.com/blue-moon). Our team is developing our Lunar Pathfinder mission will demonstrate the lander's core capabilities - including the privately funded BE-7 landing engine, precision landing sensors, and advanced integrated power and propulsion architecture - on an early New Glenn flight.Responsibilities include but not limited to: Develop test plans and procedures for vehicle level Structural Testing. Execute test plans and procedures as part of an integrated test team covering 3 shifts operations. Lead daily test operations, operate test consoles, direct technician work and coordinate with internal customers. Apply direct experience to component or integrated vehicle test planning and execution of structural, vibe, shock, acoustic, modal. Experience with test facility instrumentation and Data Acquisition and Control Systems. Work with the design and systems engineers to plan tests of the vehicle subsystems, ensuring the tests are designed to verify the pertinent requirements. Design, procure, and install test support equipment; manage vendors and subcontractors during installation. Troubleshoot issues that arise during testing. Reduce, analyze, and archive test data to support verification tasks. Perform root cause, system hazard analysis and failure investigations. Find opportunities for safety improvements and cost savings. Proactively prepare status updates and communicates both within the organization and with direct customers. Have frequent inter-organizational and customer interactions on difficult technical issues. Work independently to determine and develop approaches to solutions. Participate in test readiness review, pre and post test briefings, and post test reviews. Manage procedural redlines and updates during test campaigns. Coordinate test crews, support equipment and vehicle configurations for testing. Enforce safety policies during test planning and operations.Minimum Qualifications: Passion for our mission: Millions of people living and working in space! BS in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, physics, or related technical discipline. 5+ years of applicable experience. Experience with space vehicle component or integrated vehicle testing including structural, vibe, acoustic, modal. Understand the Test Like You Fly assessment and exception process. Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills. Experience working collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work environment.
