The English Department at Seton Hall University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Creative Writing with a specialization in fiction to begin August 2024. We seek candidates with a commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. Candidates must have the MFA or PhD in hand by the time of appointment. Duties and Responsibilities:
The standard teaching load for tenure-track and tenured faculty is 9 credits per semester. Course assignments will be balanced between first-year writing, university core, Creative Writing courses, literature courses, and graduate classes. The faculty member will also be expected to publish regularly and serve the Department, College, and University. The Department of English seeks candidates who can invigorate student interest in writing and literature and who is interested in innovative approaches to the Creative Writing and literature majors.
Required Qualifications:
PhD or MFA in Creative Writing with a focus on Fiction in hand by the start of Employment and a solid record of publication; experience teaching Creative Writing at the college level.
Desired Qualifications:
Additional interests in drama and/or screenwriting and/or digital writing a plus.
