Additionally, we provide Functional Service Provider (FSP) Solutions, supporting our clients with scientific and technical expertise, acting as an extension of their team, coordinating all laboratory related needs, advising on strategies for lab data collection and providing end-to-end analytical and logistical solutions.
Job Summary
The Receiving Clerk is responsible for timely receipt and of biological sample packages received at LabConnect and handoff to the accessioning floor.
Essential Duties and Other Responsibilities:
- Receive packages from the couriers
- Assess the condition of the package and note any issues
- Open packages, compare requisition to samples and note conditions of samples as appropriate
- Utilize computer system to capture inbound tracking information in the LIMS
- Condense packages with airbill, maintaining sample at same temperature as receipt
- Label cryoboxes as needed
- Clean breakdown area to include but not limited to:
- Inspect area for loose samples
- Decontaminate surfaces
- Inspect and package styrofoam coolers for recycling
- Collect gel packs for recycling
- Retrieve and distribute documents and samples to the appropriate areas of the department
- Assist with manifesting, manifest reconciliation, and labeling
Education/Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds the majority of their shift. There will be exposure to dry ice and cold. Must handle biological samples.
Hours
- The hours are Tuesday - Saturday, 9:00am - 3:00pm
