JOB SUMMARY
The Technologist Assistant performs a variety of front and back office duties while maintaining a high level of customer service and quality patient care.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Properly inputs all required patient information into the system including protocol, patient history in full sentences, performing providers, and any additional information to the radiologist regarding the procedure.
2. Obtains complete and detailed history to assist the radiologist with diagnosis from each patient.
3. Prepares procedure rooms and assists in all procedures as needed, including starting IVs for contrast.
4. Properly identifies patients and demonstrates compassion while maintaining patient confidentiality. Explainsthe exam to each patient to ensure patient safety and cooperation.
5. Comforts patients by anticipating patients' needs, anxieties, and questions.
6. Performs clerical duties at Pablo Campus and Central office locations as needed.
7. Consults with referring physicians offices by telephone in a concise and courteous manner.
8. Burns CDs, and prepares film jackets. Also uploads CDs from outside facilities for comparison as necessary.
9. Maintains exam rooms by stocking exam rooms with necessary supplies. Maintains equipment and reports anyequipment malfunctions to the supervisor or appropriate service provider.
10. Checks and rechecks the schedules on a daily basis.
11. Work in all modalities, and obtain patient history as needed.
WORK EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Two or more years in the Medical Assisting field is preferred.
High school diploma or GED.
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistance program or certification is preferred.
SKILLS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff and patients, and the ability to work independently.
This job requires prolonged sitting or standing, frequent bending, stooping, or stretching; Must be able to see with orwithout corrective eyewear, must be able to hear clearly, with or without assistance. This position may require lifting 50 plus pounds.
