ResponsibilitiesAssist with managing the college’s day-to-day IT support needs autonomously.
Resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
Communicate planned and unplanned service disruptions and implement fallbacks.
Document enterprise services with Visio, or interoperable application, to identify systems, data flow, and dependencies of applications provided by the Office of Information Technology.
Completion of service health monitoring and preventative maintenance activities, as assigned.
Assist with the automation of service health monitoring activities via Powershell, Snipe IT, and other technologies as required.
Assist with operation of Microsoft Hyper-V environment.
Assist with other initiatives as assigned; possibilities include assisting with software and hardware migrations, and inventory compliance.
Operates technical equipment, and completes maintenance/duties related to lab, computer, camera, machinery, or other specialized equipment.
This position will help provide computer support for the College of Criminology and Criminal Justice. This will involve diagnosing hardware and software problems remotely and in person. It will also involve setting up new computers and retiring old computers.
QualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalent
Student majoring in Computer Science or IT related field.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Preferred QualificationsIntermediate to expert level knowledge of Microsoft AD DS
Basic understanding of virtual technologies and architecture
Must be able to lift 50lbs
Stand, sit, or squat for extended periods
Prioritize tasks based on urgency and impact
Windows operating system knowledge must be current. Windows 10/11 and Server2022+
Good documentation habits and attention to detail
Powershell and Bash scripting proficiency
Familiarity with Linux and MacOS
Data Privacy Compliance experience
