Position SummaryReporting to the Manager of Content Development, the Technical Writer/Editor will work with the ISC2 Professional Development team, subject matter experts, external vendors, and member volunteers to create purposeful, quality copy for learning experiences and materials. The Technical Writer/Editor is primarily responsible for performing research, writing, and reviewing content for learning experiences, and creating, delivering, and maintaining content conforming to internal and publishing style standards.
ResponsibilitiesApplies collaborative writing and editing skills to supplement content developed for learning experiences. Reviews, edits, and provides developmental and substantive feedback to SMEs and other content authors to ensure clarity, flow, and focus as well as alignment with ISC2 tone and style guidelines, expectations for the target audience, adherence to the learning blueprint, and quality standards. Demonstrates excellent writing adaptability to suit different formats, audiences, and platforms. Contributes to the ongoing assessment and improvement of editorial procedures and standards. Collaborates on the creation of style guidelines, writing standards, and editorial processes to aid the Professional Development team in their creation of quality learning experiences. Remains current on all educational products and planned launches. Assists with development process supporting meeting project deadlines. Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

QualificationsExcellent PC skills and intermediate knowledge of MS Office products (SharePoint, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook), internet and web applications/navigation. Familiarity with the Chicago Manual of Style, AP Style Guide, and formal resource citation. Technical or cybersecurity knowledge or experience. Excellent skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.), Adobe Acrobat, and other tools required in an online environment
Education and Work ExperienceA bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, or equivalent experience in technical writing, developmental editing, and publishing.
Physical and Mental DemandsWork normal business hours and extended hours when necessary. Up to 10% travel required. Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting, for prolonged periods. Regular use of office equipment such as a computer/laptop and monitor computer screens. Occasionally, approximately 5-10% of the time, transport and/or lifting of up to 25 lbs. of equipment or packages, which may also involve squatting, bending, or kneeling.
