Technical Writer

Hybrid Position Located in Jersey City, NJ or Plano, Tx (On-site 1-2 Days/week)

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of IT documentation. Translates technical and/or complicated information into clear, concise documents. They will help build user guides and input those user guides into ServiceNow's Knowledgebase in addition to creating and editing "How to videos. Additional tasks will include:

• Development, Quality Assurance, and Technical Support to produce a wide variety of technical publications including instructional materials, technical manuals, and product documentation to be used by both the IT and business community.
• Interviewing stakeholders, subject matter experts, and technical staff to collect information, prepare written text, and coordinate layout and material organization.
• Review, critique, and edit documentation including design documents, programmer notes, and system overviews.
• Maintain internal documentation library, providing and/or coordinating special documentation services as required, and oversight of special projects.

Skills:

• Typically has 4 years of technical writing experience
• Creating User Guides
• Editing and creating documents using Adobe's suite
• Visio - to create workflows
• Experience working with ServiceNow Knowledgebase
• Experience with Video Editing Tools (SnagIT and Camtasia)
• Must have strong organizational and project management skills and excellent writing and editing skills.
• Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Technical Writing, Business Administration, or Information Technology field. Or equivalent work experience.
