Job Description

Dobbs Defense Solutions is in search of a skilled Technical Writer to assist with a range of responsibilities including the collection and organization of information for document preparation, creating training materials, guides, proposals, and reports. This role involves providing technical edits to various types of documentation, including engineering and software documents, while utilizing strong writing, editing, and communication skills to present complex information clearly and understandably. The candidate will also support senior staff in technical writing, research, and document preparation, requiring the ability to draft documentation for diverse requests. Essential skills include creating persuasive proposals within tight deadlines, a deep understanding of US government contract terms, and the capability to quickly comprehend technical RFPs and RFIs. Prior experience in writing responses for US government contracts, aligning these responses with the company's services and business needs, is also crucial.

Duties 

• Works with teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of scientific and technical information, documentation content, and requirements
• Adept at Quickly understanding technical RFPs, RFIs, and writing compelling proposal responses that align with the company’s service offerings and business requirements
• Analyzes existing and potential content and suggests enhancements to content and its presentation
• With no guidance, develops diagrams, charts, and graphs that increase the user’s understanding
• Develops high-quality documentation with no guidance that is easy-to-understand, easy to use, meets applicable standards, and meets the objectives and goals for the intended audience

•  Prior experience in writing proposal responses for US government contracts is essential

Qualifications 

Required Education and Experience:

• Minimum of six years of experience as a Technical Writer
• Minimum of High School Diploma
• Strong working knowledge in Microsoft Office and excellent writing skills

Desired Capabilities:

BA in English, Science  or related technical discipline (Extensive, directly applicable experience may substitute for the academic degree requirement), desired
