Work Arrangement
Hybrid- This position will require the employee to be onsite a minimum of three days per week. Work location will be Warren, Michigan.
The Role
The Prismatic fabrication space includes components across both the EV and ICE space, including: Transmission cases, valve bodies, and solenoid bodies; Engine cylinder heads and cylinder blocks; Electric drive unit case and housing; and vehicle structural casting machining.
The Prismatic Technical Specialist is the SME of, and responsible for, the development and sustainment of the Bill of Process and Bill of Equipment. Additionally, the Technical Specialists maintain and develop a technology roadmap for the department; while also leading problem solving activities on critical process problems experienced during launch.
This role has been created to support all prismatic machining (EDU, Transmission, Engine, Structural Body machining). Support process development for V284 machining; global process reviews and support for EP28 DU; update BOE for EDU processes; lead consolidation of all prismatic BOE; develop standards for automated inspection methodologies; development of advanced measurement strategies; update simulation processes and Phase 0 database; develop technology roadmap for ancillary processes; develop standardized method for improving feedback between plants and CME team.
What You Will Do
- Leading consolidation of BOE across prismatic spaces
- Development of BOE for structural body machining
- Leading updates/reviews of BOP across prismatic spaces
- Development and sustainment of technology roadmap for Prismatic Fabrication
- Supporting testing/deployment of technology roadmap
- Support problem solving activities on critical launches
- Maintain contact with manufacturing facilities to understand top issues and concerns with BOP and BOE processes in production
- Lead global peer reviews for new production processes and components
- Support team development and direction for Virtual by 2025
- Support development of improved standards for automated inspection
- Support development and reviews of cost estimates and MvB analysis on prismatic components.
- Develop Control Plan Methodology for Neural Network based inspection technologies
- Interest and desire for long term growth opportunities beyond current role
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- 10+ years of Prismatic Fabrication experience
- Experience with creating/reviewing cost estimates for manufacturing systems
- Experience guiding and interpreting simulation results for manufacturing systems
- Demonstrated collaboration and teamwork; demonstrated ability of leading cross-functional teams and influencing without direct authority
- Ability to create, expand upon, communicate, and execute organization’s advanced product roadmap and vision
- Ability to develop consensus on best practices and validity of technical solutions
- Proven organizational agility, influencing across hierarchies, and driving change to achieve business results
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering

- Experience with vision based inspection systems
- Experience with mass--flow and pressure decay leak test systems
- Masters Degree in engineering discipline
