- B.S in Chemical Engineering, Material Engineering, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering or relevant degree.
- 3 years or more of Battery Cell process development experience.
- In depth process development experience of Battery Cell Assembly process including stacking / winding / current collector process / casing process / welding
- Development experience on advanced notching process
- Development experience on advanced laser welding process
- Development experience on electrolyte injection process
- Development experience on advanced winding process for prismatic and cylindrical cells
- Self-starting, self-directed with extremely good influential, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong manufacturing background with heavy emphasis on production experience.
- Ability to travel for specific requirements (planned, not a program position).
- Strong leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to deliver by adhering to Ford+ Performance Leadership Behaviors/Methodology
- 5+ years of Battery Cell industry or academia (not including degree period) including 3+ years of process development and Battery Cell manufacturing line installation and process setup.
- Strong understanding of different process requirement with different chemistry or cell form factors.
- Experience required interaction with senior leadership, process engineering and plant production teams.
- Ability to work with and/or manage technical organization while maintaining morale and high levels of productivity.
- Self-starting, self-directed with extremely good influential, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

What you'll do...
- Communicate and work with cross functional groups (e.g. Ind Eng, MP&L, B&F, PD, NMP, Adv. Manufacturing, etc.) to deliver programs and implement technology.
- Follow Strategies, Procedures, Guidelines, Bill of Process, MDS/MPS to maintain consistency across programs.
- Incorporate continuous improvements utilizing ME Continuous Improvement / Lessons Learned, Deviation and Decision Record Processes.
- Drive Innovation and Technical Excellence Awards nominations annually in each area.
- Drive resolution of major program issues.
- Support Product Development Meetings activities and identification / resolution of feasibility issues.
- Lead technical direction for post-delivery changes to equipment.
- Provide technical support to various organizations.
- Identify, assess and select suppliers and subcontractors.
- Lead/Support Engineering Peer Review meetings.
- Lead, mentor, coach, counsel, recognize and motivate employees, as necessary.
- Lead Champion program implementation from inception through, procurement through launch of all equipment to support new programs.
- Drive continuous improvement mindset in all objectives.
- Establish and maintain consistent priorities to fully utilize engineering resources in the most efficient manner.
- Conduct training classes, Competency development on various topics as required.
- Monitor engineering application of Strategies, Procedures, Guidelines for delivery of programs tracked in MIDAS.
- Battery cell process engineering knowledge to determine the process engineering methods and evaluation criteria/methods for best overall operations
- Process development scoping working range of ‘after electrode manufacturing, before cell activation/formation’
- Designing/Commissioning Battery Cell Assembly from the end of electrode process to the beginning of formation process. (Machine and Process)
- Developing a range of advanced and quality Cell Assembly form factors including several ways of stacking, winding, pouch, can, welding.
- Drive Innovation, strive for Technical Excellence
- Roadmap for advanced manufacturing. Leading collaborators of Ford Motor Company.
- Ensure Manufacturing Point of View is represented with Product Development for Design for Assembly/Manufacturing, FMA (DFMEA, SCCAF, PFMEA, Process Reconciliation, etc.)
- Support/drive protection of Ford’s Intellectual Property (IP) during process development
- Lead technical direction for post-delivery changes to equipment.
