Job Goal:
As part of the Communication team, our Graphic Designer is a customer-focused designer who supports the implementation of our marketing and communication plans. The Graphic Designer applies a creative mindset and keen eye for aesthetics and details to translate ideas and concepts into appealing visual elements, including graphics, photographs, and video to engage our customers and meet our business objectives. The Graphic Designer maintains the Region 4 brand image across all marketing and communication channels while building positive relationships with customers and other stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in graphic design or a related field
Experience:
One to three years of related work experience in graphic design, photography, and video compilation.
Special Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional creativity and design skills
- Expert proficiency in a variety of current software programs, primarily Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Canva
- Demonstrated experience designing high-quality graphic designs to support communication and marketing plans
- Demonstrated experience taking and editing compelling photos and videos to tell organizational stories
Major Responsibilities:
Communication, Marketing, & Advertising
- Collaborate with communication and marketing specialists to produce design elements for use in e-mail messaging, video storytelling, social media posts, product ads, digital and print flyers/brochures, and event
- Apply in-depth knowledge of current design trends to develop compelling, high-quality, and on-brand graphic elements, photography, and video to showcase Region 4 products, professional learning, and services and move target audiences to action.
- Take and edit high-quality photos and videos to aid communication and marketing specialists to develop high-quality communication and marketing collateral.
- Take and enhance professional photographs of Region 4 employees for use on employee badges, Region 4 websites, product advertisements, and employee profile pictures on Region 4 social media and virtual meeting platforms.
- Adhere to asset delivery deadlines of several projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain final design files for all graphic design content in a Region 4 approved file management system.
Branding
- Maintain a brand image that resonates with the target audience, supports our mission and values, and is consistent across all channels and assets.
- Promote the value of brand management to internal stakeholders by assuring all communication and marketing designs adhere to brand standards.
Collaboration
- Manage Region 4's reputation and build positive relationships with customers and other stakeholders.
- Create design elements, photographs, and videos that comply with creative design briefs supplied by departments while adhering to Region 4 brand standards.
- Amend designs promptly after receiving feedback from customers.
- Negotiate with internal customers to resolve concerns and escalate issues to the department senior specialist or director as appropriate.
- Assist in setting and achieving strategic and measurable personal and team goals.
Social media
- Create compelling visual elements for routine and on-demand social media campaigns to engage with customers and promote our products and services.
- Design convincing promoted or paid social media messages to move Region 4 customers to action.
