- Provides silage inoculant and ruminant probiotic technical assistance to Chr. Hansen Key Account Managers (KAMs) including education, training, and interpretation of research to continually improve knowledge and skill sets.
- Supports sales team in growing and maintaining business. Understands, supports, and executes the selling process.
- Position key Chr. Hansen products and work closely with consulting nutritionists, veterinarians, and feed companies.
- Collaborates with Global Commercial Development and Innovation on industry trends, challenges, and opportunities to expand and/or enhance our brand portfolio and recognition.
- Support our Value Adding Services program and forage quality programs including but not limited to nutrient profile analysis of feedstuffs, SAFE programs for silage safety training, and support the development of new services.
- Support the development and implementation of protocols and monitor Chr. Hansen research studies.
- Assist in the development and review of technical and sales materials.
- Create and present scientific presentations.
- Participate in professional trade associations and committees related to the ruminant and silage industry.
- Assist in developing and supporting company positioning.
- Prepare reports as required including objectives, meeting summaries, and expenses.
- Operates professionally and supports the vision and values of the company.
- Possess good communication, negotiation, and follow-up skills.
- Possess a history of success working with silage/forage customers including but not limited to direct customers, feed companies, and key opinion leaders.
- Must be able to work in a team environment with technical and sales professionals.
- Must be able to increase product sales through relationships and influence.
- Must be able to manage own time and schedule while supporting a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
- Ability to travel up to 75% of working time. A valid passport is needed as some international travel will be required.
- These characteristics are normally acquired through an advanced degree in agriculture science (Ph.D. preferred). A focus in forage or ruminant nutrition is preferred with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience. An extensive knowledge of silage inoculants and forage production is required.
- The working environment is a home office setting about 25% of the time and car and/or air travel about 75% of the time. This position requires a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and the ability to be insured. The employee must be able to meet the travel requirements of the job.
