Our strategic unit with Collins, Connected Aviation Solutions (CAS), provides advanced information management systems, products and services that enable the connected aviation ecosystem by bringing together Collins’ unique breadth of aviation products with our smart digital solutions to help us enhance every aspect of the end-to-end travel experience.


The Collins Connected Aviation Solutions (CAS) organization is currently leading the Connected Ecosystem strategic pillar for Collins Aerospace. The primary responsibility of the candidate is to manage engineering’s execution of projects supporting Digital Transformation.  In doing so, the candidate will coordinate the activities performed by a small cross-functional engineering team, evolving solutions from stakeholder needs while exploring opportunities, documenting requirements, designing, developing, verifying and validating. This is an ideal role for anyone who enjoys leading digital transformation and/or is interested in a leadership role in in the future. YOU will play a pivotal role in this high growth and high visibility area of the Collins Aerospace company. 

What YOU will do: 

  • Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets for complex programs, and recommends appropriate adjustments to ensure adherence to the established project plan, schedule, and budget.

  • Monitor financial performance of the engineering programs and develops corrective action plans to address financial performance gaps.

  • Develop designs, work specifications, forecasts, and select materials, equipment, project staff, and contractors to optimize performance.

  • Supports respective business unit in defining strategic plans for complex programs to ensure that the organization’s objectives and business target are achieved.

  • Identifies and reacts to project problems and leads solutions, such as reallocating resources or changing contractual specifications. Assists in developing resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives for escalated problems.

  • Reviews and presents plans and progress reports relating to project value-stream strategy, progress, and results.

  • Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets, and financial terms/conditions of contract.

  • Establish design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration, and test.

  • Meets program schedules and budgets and maintains the integrated master schedules for project(s).

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including Technical Project Managers, Value Stream leaders, Product Line teams, User Experience, DPLC, DevOps, and Cybersecurity.

Education & Experience: 

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience

Qualifications you must have: 

  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

  • Experience as a Technical Project Manager, Product Owner, Product Manager, and/or Project Manager with proficiency in project and program management concepts, methodologies, practices, and technologies.  

Skills we value: 

  • Aerospace/aviation domain experience. 

  • Eight (8) years of Project Management experience

  • Experience with the following technologies and disciplines, cloud computing, data science, web-based applications.

  • Experience in technology readiness level (TRL) progression

This role is also eligible for the Re-Empower Program.  The Re-Empower Program helps support talented and committed professionals as they rebuild their capabilities, enhance leadership skills, and continue their professional journey.  Over the course of the 14-week program, experienced professionals will gain paid, on-the-job experience, have an opportunity to participate in sessions with leadership, develop personalized plans for success and receive coaching to guide their return-to-work experience.  Upon completion of the program, based on performance and contributions participants will be eligible for a career at RTX.


Minimum Program Qualifications
