Job Description

This position is an opportunity to work with a variety of electromechanical test systems and customers to grow EAG’s business.  EAG provides stress-based reliability qualification and knowledge-based reliability qualification methodologies based on industry standards in support of our client’s need to achieve high quality and reliable products.  Our clients include leading edge tech companies in a diverse range of industries and business sectors who design, manufacture, or incorporate electronics for tomorrow’s technology driven world.  

The Technical Program Manager manages all aspects of customer projects from definition of services to project completion including scoping projects, tracking overall project milestones, mitigating project risks, managing deliverables, and interfacing daily with customers.  The candidate will be the main point of contact to customers for all EAG services.  You will be responsible for tracking projects with EAG’s online tracking system and helping implement or improve the process.  Responsibility to escalate when required.

Essential Job Functions:

As a Technical Program Manager, you are responsible for overall customer service, satisfaction, and ensuring a high quality, on schedule launch of end-to-end services for the planning, implementation, and delivery of products in the semiconductor industry.  This leadership role will have cross-functional ownership of all activities required for an application, board, or service release.  You will be the customer’s primary point of contact interfacing with internal and external teams to ensure dependencies support the project schedule.   

You will work with PCB design, reliability, test, and production operations teams, along with management and sales to put together plans and execute.  Expectations and visibility are high, so you must be able to take independent ownership of assigned accounts/projects and drive the team to complete the services and help ensure customer has a successful launch of their product. 

You must be able to demonstrate the basic principles of program management and show commitment to the profession via continuing education, up-to-date certifications, and desire to eventually achieve PMP certification if not already certified.  You must be able to manage multiple projects at the same time, recognize and mitigate risks, and work proactively on contingency plans.  You must be detail- and process-oriented with emphasis on clear, precise, and documented communication/updates to customers and EAG PM management.  The candidate must be able to support the growth of the Program Management Office (PMO) by assisting in defining and maintaining standards for project management and in implementing standard tools, processes, and documentation to be used within the division.

You must come up to speed with our online WIP and project tracking systems to plan, schedule, assign work, establish priorities, resolve resource problems, and take appropriate measures to ensure production meets specifications and is completed on schedule.

Good technical understanding of EAG’s services and culture will need to be learned in a timely manner. 

Detailed Responsibilities:

  • Developing and managing project schedules for hardware and services according to customer’s qualification plan and targeted timeline
  • Managing the activities of the cross functional teams to ensure on time delivery
  • Timely resolution of issues and escalation if required to avoid delays in project completion
  • Developing customer dashboards for Tier1 accounts that will be used by customer management to track metrics and project progression at a high-level
  • Reviewing status with the customer and the management team
  • Driving effective meetings with both customers and internal teams
  • Building and maintaining customer relationship
  • Understanding of EAG’s offerings and sales oriented to direct customers appropriately towards additional EAG services or recurring business
  • Interfacing with engineering to assist in the hardware and program delivery of the product through EAG cycle
  • Working with operations to manage customer samples and disposition engineering hold lots
  • Understanding customers’ request and assisting sales with quoting
  • Able to align work hours with EAG team and customer workday schedule, typical core hours from 9am-6pm
  • Willing to be accessible after hours as necessary to accommodate and support customers and team
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field
  • 7+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry
  • 5+ years of full-time Technical Program management experience within an engineering or technical field
  • Prior customer facing experience
  • Operational knowledge of product release in the following areas of chip manufacturing:
    1. Reliability
    2. PCB
    3. Test Engineering
    4. Product Engineering
    5. ESD
    6. Production
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Knowledge of project scheduling software such as Smartsheet is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills to interact/engage with customers
  • Good vision, analytical, process-oriented, strong technical understanding, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated success leading and managing multiple major and concurrent programs
  • Goal/focus driven and able to handle pressure situations
  • Accustomed to working in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Proven willingness and ability to operate independently with minimal oversight, comfortable prioritizing and escalating as needed to succeed
  • PMP or another Project Management credential is a plus
  • Advanced degree (MBA, Masters, PhD) is a plus

Additional Information

Compensation Range: The compensation range for this position is $100,000 - $110,000 annually. The pay offered is commensurate with experience.

Positions may be subject to ITAR government regulations (International Traffic in Arms Regulations).
