The Technical Program Manager, Data Services is a hands-on role driving program management aspects for our Data Services team. The Technical Program Manager, Data Services is responsible for the project management aspects of product delivery, providing daily input and periodic status reports, managing risk, serving as support provider in case issues arise, and is a key contributor of product delivery success.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Creates, documents, and manages product backlog and delivery.
- Own program management for delivery of products for the product and Data Services teams, including solutioning and dependency management.
- Collaborate with product manager(s) and engineering team on the coordination of release schedules, product delivery, and resolving technical roadblocks faced by the team.
- Work with product, Data Services, and engineering teams to enable the design and development of scalable data infrastructure.
- Use strong project management, organizational and leadership skills to facilitate effective, collaborative product team meetings.
- Collect, analyze, integrate, and maintain key cross functional deliverables (e.g. project plans, change management plans, migration schedules, etc.).
- Collaborate on critical path activities and anticipate bottlenecks that may impede the completion of milestones.
- Facilitate project risk management activities including but not limited to identification, assessment, and mitigation.
- Work with product team to identify deviations from approved project plans and manage resolution including escalation.
- Provide leadership to help manage cross functional team dependencies by contributing to identification and management of impediments to the product team’s success and facilitate rapid decision making.
- Work with product, Data Services, and engineering teams to define and track requirements and ensure appropriate verification for delivered solutions.
- Interfaces with Technical Program Management team on an ongoing basis to identify best practices and manage expectations.
- Collaborate with Technical Program Managers across Virtuoso to identify and implement agile and Kanban best practices.
- Contribute to and manage improvements for product team Kanban board on an ongoing basis and based on retrospectives.
- Fulfills departmental requirements in terms of providing work coverage and administrative notification during periods of personnel illness, vacation, or education.
- Strong internal and external customer relationship-building and negotiation skills.
- Proactively review data validation and conduct regular audits of data sources to ensure data integrity across systems, with a goal to maintain high data quality standards.
- Collaborate in testing and implementation of new data processes that affect Data Services team operations.
- Maintain data integrity and confidentiality in compliance with data privacy standards such as GDPR,
Educational and Skills Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, computer science, analytics, business administration, operations, engineering, or related field required
- Scrum Certified Product Owner preferred
- 4+ years of prior experience in Technical Program or product management and/or business analyst roles, including responsibility for software Technical Program and solutions requirements
- Experience with Scrum/Agile/Kanban Software Development
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem solve in a deadline driven environment
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Highly motivated, results-driven Technical Program Manager with strong analytical skills, business acumen and technical aptitude
- Experience working cross-functionally with a wide breadth of product managers, user experience designers, engineers, stakeholders, users, and business leaders to generate buy-in for the Technical Program direction
- Capability to work as an individual contributor as part of a larger team
- Travel acumen preferred

Travel Requirements:
- Travel is rarely required for this position (0-1 trips per year).
- Any travel will be entirely domestic.
