Technical Manager, Communications

As one of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)’s top contractors, ISS is seeking a Technical Manager, Communications to support National Ocean Service (NOS) Communications and Education Division (CED) office.

Where you will be: This role is a hybrid role with expectations of 2 days per week in the NOAA office in Silver Spring, MD.

What you will do: This position supports corporate communications, including both internal and external communications and includes:

• Support of content development for on-line and print audiences
• Design and produce communications materials
• Gather, analyze, and present data necessary to cross cutting initiatives in support of NOS priorities and applying a corporate view of NOS activities
• Develop briefing and communications materials and reports (oral and written) including presentations, one-page handouts, and talking points
• Revisit older website content and apply style guidelines with an emphasis on consistency and tone
• Serve as executive secretariat support for cross-NOS activities such as those supporting strategic management of supplemental funds

What you bring:

• Bachelor’s degree or other equivalent degree program
• Six (6) years of experience in the area of Information Technology with two (2) years being specialized
• A self-starter, team oriented attitude
• A strong interest and background in promoting ocean and coastal stewardship
• Bonus points: You are familiar with NOAA and/or NOS.
