Technical Manager

THE OPPORTUNITY

The role of the Technical Manager is to Ensure structure within the Technical Team/ Managing Materials / Setup / Processing and Tool Room and to develop a strong technical team focusing on processes; process control and accountability. It will be involved in Mold work standardization / Machine equipment installs supporting the process and standardization of equipment when feasible and will make sure that all safety procedures are being followed as well as ensuring that the equipment is in good safe mechanical operating condition. If warranted shut down the process.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Be the main point of contact with Maintenance on any mechanical issues that are identified, provide support if needed, help ordering parts, trouble shooting and resolving issues or assigning resources to assist.
• Be the main point of contact with Engineering and Launching new products. Assign resources as needed to ensure that Customer expectations are being met during trials or improvement projects.
• Responsible for departmental budgets on capital and staffing.
• Ensure that training is being done for new employees and responsible for seeing that Technical plant staffing is maintained to support the needs of production and customers.
• Ensure all molded and finished production meets established quality control specifications.
• Participate in the team effort of the quality control inspector and supervisor to maintain a smooth flow of production parts of the highest quality.
• Rectifying quality or production problems by maintaining problem solving communication with Quality/Production Manager.
• Actively participate in production meetings to determine production requirements.
• Make recommendations on required changes to existing and new tooling and prototypes, ensuring better quality parts and less rejects.
• Oversees and follows up on any maintenance issues affecting the process.
• Ensure preventative maintenance is performed on Tooling and Molds.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

Minimum Qualifications:

• Degreed Technical Certification or 7 years blow or injection molding experience; within the manufacturing industry preferred.
