We are looking for a Product Engineering Manager who will oversee the product development process for multiple facilities, leading and overseeing new product development and design to order projects. This will include developing and modifying engineering and design processes and procedures.
The company is in the automotive industry and does fine blanking, stamping, and high volume metal fabrication.

Responsibilities:
- Work closely with customers and sales team to understand and develop new products and prioritize work.
- Lead new projects through the product development process.
- Review, check, and approve work.
- Develop project plans and create appropriate documentation.
- Manage resources, schedules, technical solutions to be sure they are aligned with expectations.
- Promote a Design for Manufacturing approach.
- Work closely with manufacturing to ensure needs are being met.
- Promote innovation in product designs and processes/procedures.
- Carry out and promote opportunities for customer site visits.
- Promote an open, honest and respectful relationship with direct reports, peers and customers.
- Cultivate a departmental commitment to continuous improvement
Education, Experience Requirements:
- BS or MS in Engineering, Mechanical or other related field
- Minimum of five years experience managing product development team
- Strong experience in SolidWorks and PDM, and other CAD tools
- Significant experience in the automotive industry (or other high volume manufacturing organization)
- Experienced in steel or other metal fabrication
- High volume, precision parts
- Effective people leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to mentor and direct engineering resources in project work
- Build relationships with a diverse group of individuals, including peers and colleagues, customers, and suppliers
