Technical Director Of Engineering

QuinStar seeks a Technical Director of Engineering with more than 12 years of experience, including expertise in new product development and engineering strategies, to steer the company’s technical capabilities and product evolution. The role reporting to the Vice President of Engineering requires leadership in technical strategy, engineering oversight, and ensuring the smooth operation and innovation of our Microwave and Millimeter Wave product lines. The Director will be pivotal in maintaining our competitive edge, managing Research and Development, driving new product development, and resolving technical challenges. A robust background in Microwave and Millimeter Wave technologies is required, alongside practical experience in design, manufacturing, and sales and marketing support.

What you’ll do:

· Stay informed of emerging Microwave and Millimeter Wave technologies and industry trends to ensure QuinStar Technology remains a leader in the field.

· Lead the technical aspects of key engineering R&D and new product development projects, providing expertise and guidance.

· Collaborate with the VP of Engineering and other department heads to develop and implement technical and engineering strategies aligned with the company’s goals.

· Serves as a technical expert for Department teams and External Clients.

· Support Sales and Marketing Department with crafting proposals, participating in customer meetings, and responding to client inquiries.

· Provide technical leadership and strategic direction to the engineering teams.

· Promote a culture of technical innovation and continuous improvement.

· Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

· Represent the engineering department in executive meetings and contribute to organizational decision-making.

· Promote and support company objectives, core values, mission, and vision statements.

· Performing other duties as assigned, embracing tenacity and adaptability in fulfilling additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

· Must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

· This position requires you to have or obtain a government security clearance.

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required (Mechanical, Electrical, or RF Design Engineering), advanced degree preferred.

· Minimum of 12 years of experience in engineering, with at least 6 years in a strong leadership role.

· Strong technical background with hands-on experience in Microwave and Millimeter Wave technologies (MMICs, Amplifiers, Receivers, Waveguides, and Circulators).

· Proven track record of leading successful engineering projects from concept to completion.

· Knowledge of Government contracting practices.

· Ability to communicate effectively with customers, internal and external.

· Exceptional leadership and team-building skills.

· Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal abilities.

· Experience with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).

· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Physical Requirements:

This job operates in a professional office and manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

· Ability to participate in the following activities for extended durations:

· Ability to stay in stationary position for extended length of time.

· Remove or replace up to 30 pounds.

· Positioning, arranging, or moving items up to certain heights or at ground level.

· Occasional ascending/descending of Ladders.
