Job Summary

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for the full cycle recruitment process including sourcing candidates, conducting interviews and facilitating hiring decisions. The positions will aid in the onboarding of qualified salaried and office-hourly candidates into a variety of positions throughout the company. The Talent Acquisition Specialist may also work with and assist site HR Managers, as requested, with recruitment and advertising support in their efforts to most effectively and efficiently staff the manufacturing facilities with hourly paid talent. This position will also partner with staffing agencies where applicable.

Essential Functions List of significant/essential duties, tasks and/or responsibilities required of this position.

  • Responsible for all aspects of office-hourly and salaried Talent Acquisition.
  • Facilitate all salaried and office-hourly personnel requisitions.
  • Develop and update job descriptions as needed.
  • Maintain, integrate, assess and improve, with assistance of the HRIS Manager, CDI’s Applicant Tracking System (ATS) software.
  • Prepare and post jobs to appropriate job board to source and attract candidates.
  • Coordinate, schedule and assist in the participation at college/high school campus job fairs, information sessions, etc.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with colleges, university and community college placement offices, technical schools and high schools, as appropriate, as additional sources of qualified applicants.
  • Screen candidates’ resumes and on-line job applications.
  • Conduct interviews using various reliable personnel selection tools/methods to filter candidates and refer qualified candidates to hiring managers.
  • Assess applicants’ relevant knowledge, skills, soft skills, experience and aptitudes.
  • Source applicants to develop a pipeline of talent for various positions.
  • Regularly follow up with the respective hiring managers and candidates to ensure timeliness of recruitment process.
  • Submit selected candidates for background review and schedule pre-placement processes.
  • Facilitate and assist with onboarding new employees.
  • Promote CDI’s reputation in the communities we operate within and within the dairy/food industry.
  • Maintain records on recruiting activities, applicant flow, etc., as required.
  • Exercise initiative and judgment in making decisions, keeping with CDI’s best interests.
  • Follow all safety and working rules.
  • Demonstrate ability to get along with co-workers, management personnel, customers, vendors, and employees, in accordance with the company policies and working rules, while ensuring a harmonious and conducive work environment.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality environment.
  • Demonstrate excellent regular full-time attendance in support of company objectives.
  • May require up to 10% travel, with occasional travel outside the local area and overnight.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities but does coordinate with and oversee 3rd party recruitment activity.

  • Staffing/recruitment experience in a manufacturing setting , strong understanding and ability to recruit in all levels of the organization, from entry level to mid-senior staff.
  • Use of various sourcing tools
  • Demonstrated strong inter-personal skills and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong attention to detail is required.
  • Must work in a safe and efficient manner and follow all safety procedures including the use of safety equipment when required.
Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of closely related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of internet recruiting, web-based databases and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using various PC-based software packages, including Microsoft Word, Excel or similar applications software.
  • Experience in general HR functions is preferred.
  • Proficient written and spoken English.
  • SHRM and/or HRCI certifications preferred.

Language Skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A well-modulated tonal volume is required with excellent diction skills needed

Reasoning Ability

Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions given in written, oral, or diagram form. Must have the ability to discern when issues may require input from levels of authority within the corporation. Ability to use discretion and handle sensitive/confidential information.

Physical Demands

Sitting/Standing/Walking: The Corporate Recruiter will spend about 50% of their time sitting at their desk while performing computer or manual accounting and other clerical duties. They walk short distances to retrieve and replace files, to photocopy or fax documents, and to interact with other personnel. The Corporate Recruiter may occasionally walk on uneven surfaces.

Lifting/Carrying: The Corporate Recruiter rarely carries items weighing over 15 to 20 lbs. Most items would be files or documents weighing less than 10 lbs, and most would be carried short distances. During a job/career fair heavier items, such as banners/supplies will be required to be carried.

Pushing/Pulling: May occasionally push or pull files, stacks of documents, or boxes of documents, which may be in files or on shelves at any height.

Squatting/Kneeling/Bending/Stooping: May occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve and replace files and documents in file drawers or on lower shelves.

Twisting/Turning: Extensively twist, turn and move their head, neck, shoulders, arms and hands at various angles performing heavy computer input, and comparing information from their computer monitor with paper documents. While standing or sitting at their workstation, they occasionally twist or turn to retrieve or replace something form an area beside their workstation.

Climbing/Balancing: May need to walk up and down stairs throughout a day. May occasionally walk on uneven surfaces.

Reaching: May reach overhead to retrieve or replace files or documents on high shelves.

Grasping/Manipulating: Need full range of motion in both hands for data entry and for using other office equipment including, copiers, calculators, and fax machines, as well as for sorting through and organizing documents.

Equipment

Operates personal computer, to enter data and run reports, and other standard office equipment experience and understanding.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The work is performed is generally in an office environment, but the employee will be subject to varying degrees of temperature when entering the plant.
