About the Office of Information Technology

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) provides information technology leadership and support to the Georgia Institute of Technology, working in partnership with academic and business units to meet the unique needs of a leading research university. OIT serves as the primary source of enterprise-wide information technology and telecommunications services in support of students, faculty, staff, and researchers.

Job Summary

Under minimal guidance, provide advanced level support services to units or on campus wide basis involving conceptualizing, planning, designing and implementing complete and integrated information technology solutions that meet business needs and support long term goals. May provide leadership to technical teams or functional programs.This position will interact on a consistent basis with: User department managers and staff, IT management and professional staff, vendors and contractors. This position typically will advise and counsel: User department managers and staff, IT professional staff, vendors and contractors. This position will supervise: NA (work direction only).

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Conduct analyses of departmental or campus wide business issues. Develop plans for solution.
Job Duty 2 -
Design and implement IT systems that address departmental and/or campus wide needs.
Job Duty 3 -
Research and prototype emerging technologies; utilize where applicable in addressing campus IT needs.
Job Duty 4 -
Promote use of campus information technology standards.
Job Duty 5 -
Advise management on viable IT solutions.
Job Duty 6 -
Serve as team leader for technical teams formed to address specific IT issues.
Job Duty 7 -
Maintain ongoing awareness of department or campus wide business needs and long term goals.
Job Duty 8 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related Field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Other Required Qualifications
Receives minimal guidance from supervisors or management; works autonomously.
Required Experience
Eight years job related experience

Master's Degree

Salary Range: $106,474 - $144,804

Location: Atlanta, GA

Job Grade: I7

Certifications in Azure Administration and Data Engineering. Experience with Administrating Azure resources. Experience with Azure Data Factory and Synapse Analytics. Experience with getting data from RESTful APIs. Experience with the parquet and Json data format. Experience with SQL, specifically TSQL. Experience with private networking in Azure. Experience with the Microsoft Power Platform, specifically Canvas Apps and Power Automate. Experience with SharePoint Online Modern. Experience with Power BI. Experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory). Experience with PowerShell scripting.

Master¿s Degree in related field preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires broad knowledge of IT systems management, infrastructure and architectural design and integration and related components and applications. Expertise in IT service delivery methodology and techniques, industry practices and campus policies and procedures is required.
