Position Summary:

Systems Administrator II maintain and supports the integrity of the operating system environment and various computer systems.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

Systems Administrator II is a full-time (40 hours per week), non-exempt/hourly position. Typical schedule is Monday through Friday 8am-5pm. On Call shift availability is required

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Administers, installs and troubleshoots a variety of operating systems
• Being a Systems Administrator II performs systems maintenance tasks, such as system back-up, recovery and file maintenance.
• Schedules, installs, and tests system software upgrades
• Systems Administrator II configures software and resolves technical problems
• Monitors and maintains software licensing and maintenance agreements.
• The Systems Administrator II works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.

Technical Skills Required:

• Operating Systems: Proficiency in Linux operating systems, with a focus on RHEL based systems and enterprise distributions in general.
• Networking: Understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and services is essential.
• Scripting and Automation: Skills in scripting languages (e.g., Perl, Python) and automation tools for system administration tasks such as Ansible.
• Security: Knowledge of security best practices and tools to secure systems and networks.
• Hardware: Familiarity with server hardware and data center technologies.

Education and Experience:

• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA): Knowledge of Red Hat based linux administration is a plus
• CompTIA Server+: Focuses on server hardware and software technologies.
• Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC): Certifications for Linux system administrators is a plus
• Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator (LFCS): Certifications for Linux system administrators is a plus
• 2-4 years professional System Administration experience.

The team represents a diverse group of products and services; therefore we are tasked with reacting too many situations simultaneously, and the pace is very fast and requires multitasking on a daily basis.

Compensation Details:$85,000-$110,000

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to sit; key/type. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
