Salary Range:    $70,001.00 - $90,000.00 Salary
Description

Summary: Assists with the daily administration of a network/server environment. Monitors network performance and performs testing to provide diagnosis of issues and to assist with deployment of solutions. Performs routine updates and maintenance tasks. May be responsible for tracking the parts inventory and maintenance of documentation. Emphasis is on learning the key aspects of the job to be performed and supporting the IT Manager. May require Network Administrator certification. This position is project focused. This position will participate in the planning and execution of day-to-day administration activities associated with IT infrastructure as well technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. The responsibilities of this position primarily pertain to cloud implementations and the related support functions.   Including: Azure Active Directory, Exchange Online, IIS, MSSQL, DFS, DNS, DHCP,  GPOs, SSL Certs, SSL VPNs, Sites and Services, blade and monolithic server management, storage system management, LAN and WAN networking, Data Backup Systems, Security systems implementations, systems management software and others. Provide escalated end user support.

Summary:

Essential Functions:  Tasks that must be performed by the person in this job.  Reasonable accommodation(s) may be requested to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.

  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs, such as backups.
  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers and operating systems software.
  • Identify system problems, recommend solutions, and escalate as necessary.
  • Identify service-related issues, recommend solutions, and escalate as necessary.
  • Provide escalated end-user support.
  • Maintain current and correct documentation.
  • Scan computers for security vulnerabilities using available tools.
  • Work with the rest of IT to detect misuse and violations and report to appropriate personnel.
  • Install and maintain anti-virus software.
  • Remove unneeded services and software.
  • Maintain adequate system logs and backups.
  • Communicate with employees and partners before and during security incidents.
  • Educate employees on security policies and their responsibilities.
  • Apply vendor-supplied fixes necessary to repair security vulnerabilities. 
  • Assist in the evaluation of potential equipment, components, and software.
  • Assist in developing plans, schedules, and requirements for the deployment of systems.
  • Assist in developing effective processes and procedures that impact systems.
  • Document and understand the local technical environment.
  • Understands and practices customer satisfaction as a top priority.
  • A demonstrated positive and proactive approach in identifying problems, creating, or finding solutions and managing projects.
  • Be available for an on-call rotation with the ability to troubleshoot and communicate outside of normal business hours.
  • Efficient and professional communication skills are required, as this position will interact with internal IT staff remotely and in-person, external partners, and those from other internal departments across all our affiliates.
  • Must be a team player and able to multi-task.

Computer / Software / Office Machines: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook e-mail.  Proficient and accurate use of a computer, keyboard, monitor, cell phone, and telephone.  To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of PowerShell, spreadsheet applications, word processing, database management, presentation software, and Internet / Cloud software.  

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent technical certifications and training.
  • Availability to work off-hours and on-call production support.
  • 5+ years progressive experience in the system administration field
