- Software Requirements Engineering role in Software Process
- Responsible Engineer (RE) for Software Requirements Specification (SRS)
- Coordination with the Software Development and Test Teams in the understanding of the intent of requirements
- Development, maintenance, and release of the SRS revisions to support the Formal Qualification Tests (FQTs)
- Ensure that the SRS is correctly linked to the parent System Specification (SS)
- Releases of SRS revisions, using the APDM tool for formal review and release
- Use of DOORS for the official repository of the software requirements, and the generation of a Word document for formal review and release of the SRS
- Support of the Software Test Team in the formal verification of the software requirements FQTs
- Support of the Test TLE in the development and review of the FQT Test Readiness Review (TRR)
- Participation In the FQTs with the test team, maintaining the run log and daily report
- Documentation of any issues and problem reports encountered during the FQT
- Tracking of all issues encountered in the development and test of the EGSE software, documented in the VersionOne tool
- Using Excel, candidate will develop and maintain software issues burnup charts for each FQT
- Review the issues burnup charts with Test TLE each week for in preparation for status review with the Team manager
- Maintain a history of all issues written and resolved during development and test and delivery
- Problem Report (PR) focal for the Software Team, and the Integrator for the Avionics Software Integration Panel (ASIP)
- Using the NASA PVCS tool, creation of all PRs - written when failures occur during a FQT, and when failures occur in the Software
- Working with software development and test, CM and SCCB, maintain the PR during the creation and resolution of the PR process
- Program Change Assessment in support of the Requirements/Verification
- Evaluate all programs changes for impacts to software requirements and test
- If assessed as an impact, support the TLE in the determination of the impact to the SRS, Test Procedures and integration and test of the change
- Maintain a record of all changes assessed, as all SRS releases must have the revision history
- Use of CPES tool to confirm committed changes for each SRS release
Desired
- Familiarity with communications interfaces commonly used in DoD / NASA projects.
- Aerospace experience a must.
- In-depth experience in writing/editing requirements, SEMPs, IRS, IDD, SRS, PRs and verification matrices.
- Demonstrated experience in conformance to industry standard Quality Control and Configuration Management practices.
- Experience with test support.
- C/C++, UNIX, Windows XP, modeling and simulation methodology, real time simulation, and simulation configuration management, root cause analysis.
Required
Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
Education
Bachelor’s degree with 15 years’ experience required.
Master’s degree preferred with 10 years’ experience.
Degree must be from an accredited college in engineering, or a relevant field. Experience must be in Aviation/Aerospace.
