Responsibilities:
- Prepare sushi dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Handle and prepare raw fish and seafood with precision and care
- Create visually appealing and delicious sushi rolls, nigiri, and sashimi
- Ensure all food is prepared in a safe and sanitary manner
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to coordinate orders and ensure timely service
- Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines
Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role preferred
- Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques and Japanese cuisine
- Ability to handle knives and other sharp kitchen tools safely and effectively
- Excellent attention to detail and presentation skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper handling of raw fish
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Know how to make maki
- Comprehensive understanding of how to make sushi rice
- Basic knowledge of fish
