Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sushi Chef to join our team. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and creating high-quality sushi dishes for our customers. Your expertise in sushi preparation and presentation will contribute to the overall dining experience of our guests. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and create a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, maki rolls, and specialty rolls
- Ensure all sushi ingredients are fresh and of high quality
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service
- Assist with catering orders and special events as needed
- Maintain inventory of sushi ingredients and supplies
- Stay updated on industry trends and new sushi techniques
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role in a restaurant or catering setting
- In-depth knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, including knife skills, fish selection, rice cooking, and rolling techniques
- Strong understanding of food safety practices and regulations
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to create visually appealing dishes
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team
