Surgical Scheduler

Job Title: SURGICAL SCHEDULER

Salary Range: $20.00-$26.00/hour, and commensurate to experience.

Surgery Scheduler Duties:

• Scheduling patients for surgery, completing facility paperwork
• Scheduling patient for follow-up appointments and tests
• Reviewing patient's medical and health history to determine pre-admission testing
• Answers the phones in a professional and courteous manner
• Completes pre/post-operative data entry in a timely and accurate manner
• Completes daily/weekly/monthly surgical schedule
• Completes departmental filing
• Completes other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum one year of prior surgery scheduling experience

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of Electric Medical Record (EMR) systems and ICD-10 coding procedures
• Knowledge of medical terminology, medications and injection procedures
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff and management
• Empathy and willingness to treat all patients with the utmost kindness and consideration
• Understand HIPAA requirements; maintain and protect patient information
• Familiarity with medical diagnostic procedures, and health care billing and authorization is required

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• CPR Certification
