Form of workSURGICAL SCHEDULER
The Surgical Scheduler will coordinate and carry out all surgical scheduling functions.
- Will work effectively with medical office schedulers to maximize the surgeon's productivity with regard to sequential scheduling of cases.
- Will also support the Director and Staff and perform general administrative tasks, as needed.
- Relays booking information to others who need to be aware of surgery booking in order to ensure that the appropriate resources are available.
- Will schedule patients for pre-admission testing.
- Communicates in a timely fashion with other departments relative to surgical patient care needs.
- Maintains equipment and supplies used and to assist in reordering and restocking of appropriate supplies.
- Registers patients for surgical procedures on day of surgery.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma required.
- Two years of experience in a physician's office or similar environment.
- Must have good computer skills in Microsoft office and Google work suite
- Positive attitude and “can do” attitude
PREFERRED
- Experience in Spanish/English medical/health interpreting.
- Experience working with Meditech Expance
- Working knowledge of ICD-9 and HCPC coding relative to surgery preferred.
