We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Surgery Scheduler to join our team. The Surgery Scheduler will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures for our patients. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical scheduling and possess excellent administrative skills.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule surgical procedures, ensuring availability of operating rooms, surgeons, and necessary equipment
- Coordinate with patients to schedule pre-operative appointments, including medical tests and consultations
- Obtain necessary insurance authorizations for surgical procedures
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Communicate with patients regarding surgery preparation instructions and answer any questions or concerns they may have
- Collaborate with medical receptionists and other office staff to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient scheduling
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing phone calls
- Assist with clinic 2 days a week if FT posistion
Experience:
- Previous experience in medical scheduling or a similar administrative role is preferred
- Medical assiting or surgery scheduling a must
- Proficiency in using scheduling systems/software E-clinical works is highly desirable
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is advantageous
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
