We are a small, boutique orthopedic practice. For over 20 years, International Orthopaedic Specialists has been taking care of generations of families, friends, and neighbors. We have longstanding relationships with local area athletes at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels as well as support local sporting groups to include triathlon, tennis, soccer, and running.

Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Surgery Scheduler. As a Surgery Scheduler, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient scheduling of surgical procedures. This is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced medical office environment and contribute to the delivery of exceptional patient care.

Duties:

- Schedule surgical procedures, coordinating with patients, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals

- Obtain necessary pre-authorization and insurance verification for surgical procedures

- Communicate with patients regarding surgery dates, pre-operative instructions, and any necessary preparations

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date scheduling records using electronic medical record systems such as Epic or Dentrix

- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure all necessary equipment, supplies, and resources are available for each procedure

- Assist in managing the surgical schedule to optimize efficiency and minimize conflicts or delays

- Provide excellent customer service to patients, addressing any questions or concerns related to their surgery scheduling

Skills:

- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting, preferably with knowledge of surgical scheduling processes

- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems such as Exscribe and Intergy

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple schedules simultaneously

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals

- Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining scheduling records and obtaining necessary authorizations

This is a part-time position.
