SalaryOphthalmology practice is seeking an experienced Surgery Scheduler. The Surgery Scheduler is responsible for organizing and maintaining an active, accurate, and operational surgery schedule for ASC based and in-office procedures. Position includes verifying patient’s insurance, obtaining pre-certifications and prior authorizations as applicable.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Communicate accurate data with providers, patients and other staff members regarding scheduling/rescheduling procedures and appointments.
- Confirm patient’s current insurance eligibility, co-pay, precertification and prior authorizations.
- Respond to calls, emails, complaints and queries from patients.
- Work using EMR system to coordinate patient care.
- Ensure all records are present at the time of the scheduled appointment.
- Prepare and distribute surgery schedule to doctor and ASC team.
- Adapt to processes and procedures from time-to-time as new technologies emerge.
Qualifications:
Experience in a medical office
Previous surgery scheduling experience
Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks
Excellent communication skills
The compensation package for this position includes a competitive salary and benefits package.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 38 – 44 per week
