Surgery Scheduler

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Surgery Scheduler to join our team. As a Surgery Scheduler, you will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures for patients. Your role will involve working closely with medical staff, patients, and insurance companies to ensure smooth and efficient scheduling of surgeries.

Duties:
- Schedule surgical procedures and coordinate all necessary appointments and paperwork
- Communicate with patients to provide pre-operative instructions and answer any questions or concerns
- Collaborate with medical staff to determine the most appropriate dates and times for surgeries
- Obtain necessary authorizations from insurance companies for surgical procedures
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of scheduled surgeries, cancellations, and rescheduling
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure availability of operating rooms, equipment, and necessary supplies
- Provide administrative support to the surgical team as needed

Qualifications:
-Previous experience in medical scheduling or administrative support in a healthcare setting preferred
- Familiarity with OB/Gyn medical terminology and procedures preferred
- Experience using Athena preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

- Medical Assistant (Certified preferred)
