Surgery Scheduler

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Surgery Scheduler to join our team. As a Surgery Scheduler, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures for our patients. Your attention to detail and ability to multitask will ensure that surgeries are scheduled efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities:
- Schedule surgical procedures, including pre-operative consultations, surgeries, and post-operative follow-up appointments
- Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure availability and proper scheduling of surgeries
- Obtain necessary patient information and medical records for scheduling purposes
- Communicate with patients to provide them with information about their surgery schedule, including date, time, and any necessary preparations
- Update and maintain accurate records of surgery schedules in electronic medical record systems
- Prior authorizations for scheduling purposes
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times

Skills:
- Proficient in medical terminology related to surgical procedures
- Experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting
- Knowledge of scheduling software/systems
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
