Responsibilities:
- Schedule surgeries and procedures for patients in a timely and efficient manner
- Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth scheduling process
- Obtain necessary patient information and medical records for scheduling purposes
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain pre-authorizations as needed
- Communicate with patients to provide necessary instructions and information regarding their scheduled procedures
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date scheduling records in the electronic medical record system
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times
- Assist with other administrative tasks as needed
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Surgery Scheduler or in a similar role is preferred
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems. Epic experience a plus
- Familiarity with medical office procedures and terminology is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
