Candidates will be required to work remotely, Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm. No weekend or holidays required!
The Surgery Scheduler oversees patient flow from point of entry to destination and ensures timely, accurate and professional services. Responsibilities may include but are not limited communicating with patients to obtaining specific information to generate accurate demographic records, insurance verification, scheduling and coordinating surgeries, providing legendary customer service to our patients, effectively communicating to the physicians regarding their surgery scheduling needs, accurately tracking & documenting the surgery scheduling process from start to finish.
They are responsible for scheduling appointments, answering incoming calls and directing patients appropriately, scheduling meetings and managing calendars. They will participate in operational aspects of the department and maintains performance improvement activities as required. This position adheres to departmental productivity, quality and service standards in support of operational goals. The Surgery Scheduler insures the availability of doctors block times & works on achieving goals for block utilization.
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Requires 0-3+ years relevant experience; previous administrative experience preferred.
- Basic typing and keyboarding skills with a minimum of 30 wpm
- Experience complex work environment a plus.
- Attention to detail is a must
- Develops and maintains relationships with our surgeon and hospital schedulers
- Requires basic proficiency in MS office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
